Curriculum Statement:

Introduction and Vision
The curriculum at Heritage Academy will provide academic excellence and outstanding academic results for all students within an ethos of celebrating British Heritage and Islamic Heritage. Our vision is to provide world-class education, training and care for everyone, whatever their background. We will develop students’ character, resilience, mental and physical well-being. We will make sure that our students have the chance to reach their potential and live a more fulfilled life.

We will give full regard to the importance of the Equal Rights Act and Protected Characteristics as a celebration of our British and Islamic Values. Students at Heritage Academy will be taught not to discriminate.

At Heritage Academy, students will be proactively taught British values of: democracy, the rule of law; individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Our moto is ‘Learning together today, for a better future tomorrow’, because we believe that the rich knowledge base that we, as a world, have inherited; the diverse experiences that we, as a nation, have benefited from; the cultural and spiritual enlightenment that we, as a society have come to, and many more things, are the starting points that will help us to educate and develop the application of knowledge and skills for our students.

We aim to put young people in touch with their British cultural heritage in harmony with the Islamic spiritual heritage and to engender respect and tolerance for our diverse society. We will foster respect for our institutions and prepare students of any background to become productive British citizens who strive to make a positive contribution to society and to the economy.

Our Mission and Values
At Heritage Academy, our mission is to provide an inspiring and challenging curriculum to develop independent and enquiring learners. Our curriculum will create an environment where questioning, academic risk-taking, critical thinking and the freedom to learn from mistakes are all encouraged. We offer a relevant curriculum designed to nurture high aspirations, promote positive attitudes, committed and resilient students who take pride in their achievements and are prepared for the opportunities and challenges for young men in the 21st century, both in Britain and across the globe.

We aim to provide students with a high-quality educational experience realised through a collective commitment to our eight core values and the associated qualities to create a sense that learning can excite and invigorate throughout life.
